Hot Pink and Black!

So, I finished my first order a few weeks back, and got it off to the buyer. Sold for $20, but that was at a discounted price. I know the lady who bought it from me, so I gave her a cheaper price. (My normal price isn’t much more expensive that this though.) Here are pictures of the finished project!

Pink and black beanie 2

Here’s the beanie, in my new “studio”. Plus a little art I did on the side. Glow in the dark beads inside an empty candle jar. It’s a little rainbow, meant to shine at night. It’s cute, and I really like it. I’d be glad to make a handful of these if I knew they’d sell.

Pink and black earwarmer

Here’s the ear warmer/headband. Oh, and on the left is a little light inside a ceiling fan light glass with clear marbles on top to spread the glow around. I like the light, just not how it’s set up. I want to be able to turn it on and off without having to dig for the little light. I’ll figure out how to do it sooner or later, I’m sure.

Pink and black scarf

All-American style scarf. I like the style, but I’m really beginning to dislike crocheting it. It’s not hard, just time consuming and tedious. Oh, well. It looks pretty dang awesome.

I’m off to work on the rest of my orders now. Only two more to go with the same set. Time to make the “big” money! Open-mouthed smile

Not crocheting–But update any way!

So, everything has been going well. My crocheting is getting better every day! I won’t be crocheting anything special for Halloween this year, mainly because I don’t have the yarn for it, but I will probably get something done for Christmas.

Also, my fiancĂ© and I have been giving the puppies our dogs had to new homes. They’re adorable little buggers, and it’s a little sad to see them go. But they’re going to great homes, so I’m glad for them. That’s a picture of Bear, one of four boys. We also have two girls, equaling a total of 6 little black balls of fur. Well, they’re bigger than that, since they’re over 7 weeks old now. Still cute little things.

I have been thinking of crocheting dog collars for our two German Shepherds. Of course, they’d be for special occasions. Right now, they’re full time outside dogs, but maybe one day they’ll be mostly inside dogs.

Honey and Charlie

Any how… I’ll be posting pictures of my next project, hot pink and black set. I’ll even post “in-between” pictures of my work.

EDIT: So, since I wrote this, I’ve been busy crocheting my three orders. All of our puppies are gone, with good homes to live in. I’ll have my first order put up next week for y’all to see. Don’t want to spam too many updates on y’all

First Three Orders

So, I’m super excited. I’ve been working on the first of three orders that I have to do that are due by Christmas. Thanks to the auction back in October for my church, I’ve gotten my name out. And I’m hoping that by finishing these three orders, I will get even more!

The first is a black and hot pink set of an ear warmer, beanie, and All-American style scarf.

The second is a maroon and golden/yellow set of an ear warmer, beanie, and All-American style scarf.

The third is a maroon and white set of of an ear warmer, beanie, and All-American style scarf.

I’ll get pictures up later of what they look like as I finish them. They’re looking pretty good so far, and I can’t wait to get them to their buyers. My little business is beginning to look up! Thanks for everyone who’s been reading and supporting me! It really means a lot to me.

Auction Went Well!

Well, here’s how I did at the auction on the 12th of October in Copperas Cove:

IMG_1344

Blue and Gold Headband, Beanie, and scarf (with glow in the dark beads) went for $35 at the auction.

Aggie (A&M) beanie and scarf went for $75 at the auction.

(I later made a special made headband for them later, still in the Aggie colors, though it had a little bit of flair thrown in too.)

UT headband, beanie, and scarf went for $35 at the auction.

So, over all, I made Grace United Methodist Church $145 with my crochet creations. Plus, I got a few new customers out of it as well. It’s so exciting! I can’t wait to get started on them and send them out before Christmas.

I’m also still working on my Mexicana afghan. It’s coming along great, but I still have a while to go. I’m not sure how long it’s going to be when it’s finished, mainly because I’ve decided to not follow the pattern’s length. I’m doin’ my own thing.

Auction Time!

I'm currently sitting in my hometown's church patiently waiting for a few of my items to get auctioned off. It's exciting! I'm hoping this will help kick start my business. I'll post back later with the prices and pictures after the sale.
I also have a spiral scarf for sale, if anyone would like to purchase it. It's red, white, and blue (made with a special holiday yarn). I'm willing to take a suggestion on a price. Just let me know.

Still Alive and Crocheting

This is a "in between" photo of the blanket I'm working on. I haven't had much time to work on it lately. It's made with Red Hearts "Mexicana" and is a ripple afghan. It's about 25-30 rows in on that picture, and it's supposed to be 75 rows long. I'm not sure if I want to keep it that length or make it longer yet, we'll just have to wait and see. I have used about 6 or 7 skeins of Mexicana to make it so far. It's really pretty, and I can't wait for it to be finished.

Crocheting New Things!

Welcome back to my blog! So, since my last entry, I’ve been a little busy bee and crocheting a bunch of different things. Down below is a spiral scarf made with Red Heart’s “Stars and Stripes” yarn. Festive enough for 4th of July or any other holiday, yet practical enough to wear whenever!

Red, White, Blue Swirl Scarf

I do realize that I don’t have any “step by step” photos… I hadn’t thought of that before I started this blog. I’m in the middle of another project at the moment, however, I do plan on taking a couple of extra pictures to show you my progress.

I have completed a few other projects as well, but haven’t placed tons of pictures of them all over here. Most of them are scarves or beanies, which were two of the easiest things to teach myself. But I’m getting way past those now, on to slightly more complicated things, such as headbands and afghans.
